I thought I would post this new moon post early this week to allow ample time to digest and prepare. The new moon to unfold early Saturday eve (AEDT) is a partial solar eclipse. This is a bookend or conclusion to the full moon/lunar eclipse we've recently sailed through. All that has arisen over the past week or so is the old being dredged up to be dealt with - not as punishment (though karmically it could most certainly be a lesson needing to be learned) - but as a way to release and finally move forward/onward this weekend. If there are still questions left unanswered they will come to resolution in the coming days.
Think of this like a dirty drain that is flooded with new water and cannot help but flush to the surface the old sludge that has been stuck in its pipes for who knows how long. Yes, it is time to clean your pipes my friend (why does this sound worse than intended?). Regardless...the gunk of your past is up so you have a choice: 1- clean it away while it is on the surface or 2- let it slowly drain back down to come up for another time. This doesn't take a wizard to know what's the right course. GET OUT YOUR BROOMS! Really this is a time to say goodbye. The culmination of the full moon in Krittika which was cutting open the wound to see what was ill (inside and outside) is now brought under the protection of the new moon in Jyestha. Jyestha has the power to rise and conquer and this is my challenge for you this week as the moon (mind) wanes into darkness and the sun (soul) is in partial eclipse. If you were to act like your own elder sibling (a symbol for Jyestha), someone who looks out for you, what choices would you make going ahead? There is without a doubt a new path ahead following this weekend but until that time you need to umbrella yourself to shield from the rain of past mistakes, actions, habits etc to stop them from absorbing back in to repeat again. Be clear of what you want, who you are and where you want to go. These are potent first steps ahead. The choice is yours. Stay light, Mark :) #vedicastrology #solareclipse #astrologersofinstagram #horoscope #jyestha #jyotish #astrology #newmoon

Friday night we enter eclipse season (oh dear). As of late last night the sun has entered the realms of Scorpio (in the visible sky) with Ketu. The sun communing with Ketu turns us inwardly on a journey to the past. And in this past we are letting go of something we have been devoted to or worshipped - perhaps a person, a pattern or a mindset. There is an ending needed to arrive at more of our essence - there is a space needed to be created from this loss to fill with the desire to be more in the present moment. This is an arrival of encompassing more of ourselves but this WILL take the pain of transformation.
Yes! Strap in folks for we have an earth shattering month ahead of two eclipses. The full moon in Krittika (visible Taurus) on Friday night is a strong moon yet it is partially eclipsed by the karmic axis. When the moon enters Taurus on Friday we will start to feel strong desires and perhaps an insatiable appetite of thoughts. Confusion abounds and there will be a feeling to cut, act or do right now. Here's my advice - WAIT. This is a confusing time especially Friday night and all will not be revealed until the following new moon/solar eclipse on Dec 4th. Eclipses create chaos in both the mind and the soul. There is a shadowing which both creates deception and illusion yet also in this shadow we can finally understand why it is there in the first place. I truly believe the last two years have been immense for shadow work. Shadow work is where we look within to see what we deny in ourselves to heal. Yet it takes change and action in the external world after uncovering these truths and this is often where the habitual mind gives up and surrenders back to comforts. So this full moon ahead is a tricky one! Sit with this feeling to move ahead yet sit with it and wait to uncover its mysteries. Where do you need to sever ties to create this space or void? It may not be the time to act but it is time to see deep into the darkness of what you have been hiding or avoiding to see what needs to be purified or burnt from your life. This will become more and more clear throughout the end of November. My Taurus and Scorpio friends (in vedic chart) will be feeling this immensely at this time. So go slow and go kind. Stay light, Mark :) #astrology #vedicastrology #jyotish #astrologersofinstagram #horoscope #ketu #rahu #eclipse #fullmoon #taurus #scorpio #krittika Every year when the moon turns new and kisses the sun in Libra the dawn of the lunar new year begins. In the sky we are not in Scorpio (as the western calendar follows) but still very definitely residing under the venusian sign of Libra. Vedic libra is not just about balance, harmony and beautifying our lives through romance and art. It also contains in it the most needed attribute in these times of justice. Justice pronounces respect for all and a genuine concern for all angles of existence; particularly the downtrodden, minority or forgotten. It is through libra we find the grace of humanity removing the ego and thirst for power. We love one another for the diversity that we all bring to the table.
It is in this new moon of Swati we have the most beautiful hindu festival of Divali - the lighting of the lamps. As we enter this new moon into the darkness (the darkest time of the year energetically as the sun is in Libra) we set the intention to light the soul. If you have a candle nearby tonight (and again I'm not liable for pyro-magic in your home) allow it to burn after the sun goes down throughout the night to the sunrise. This symbolises the divine in you holding light through these dark times and carrying you into the new lunar year. The moon safely dies and is reborn again into the new. Swati brings through the shakti to scatter like the wind. When in a lower octave it tends to rely on external change to provide this feeling but the higher octave is the inner winds of transformation. Constant external change (such as ending work, relationships, where you live) like a shallow rooted plant only causes less and less connection to the earth minimising nutrients and a lack of feeling safe and grounded. But if you can bring the vayu/wind inside through breathwork containing the prana (life) the change of the inner landscape is where the magic truly begins. Allow the winds of change to shatter illusion, to quickly shift your perspective and find the ultimate clarity: that you are divine and always will be.
