Oh Bonnie! Hands up if you're feeling something...something you can't quite define...it feels odd, weird, mysterious or subtly grotesque? Welcome to the full moon eclipse. In contrast to western astrology definitions the vedic interpretation of an eclipse goes something like this: as the karmic axis shadow the two great lights in our sky (the sun and moon) this shadow creates chaos within the mind and soul. Feeling disconnected from our sources of light we start to see more of our darkness and demons. Now before you panic about sinking into the hellmouth and summon your inner Buffy...there is always insight to be gained. The moon is eclipsed this time around so our mind is feeling both vulnerable yet also perhaps more spiritual. Some can expect big disturbances (especially if your own sun, moon or ascendant fall in Taurus or Scorpio) and yet others can just have a delicate uneasiness or a subtle feeling of deception or disillusionment about their current reality. With eclipses there is always a mystery as this is deep karmic rubble. This rubble is yours to explore over the next few days particularly tomorrow night from 6:47pm-11:49pm AEST. The remedies suggested during this time is to eat light or fast, stay away from big groups of people and meditate. Any spiritual practices are heightened or amplified at this time. On a mundane level I see this eclipse as a way to see what's really happening in our connections right now - the moon is in Anuradha which shows us how to devote, respect and honour both ourselves and those we commune with. The eclipse will either cast a shadow over these connections causing the heart to feel isolated/lonely or amplify where you are incorrectly pouring your heart into fruitless love/connection. Why so cruel? Well I'm glad you asked - as this is the karmic axis it is why we are here. The lessons we are here to learn or balance from previous actions/lives. So it may feel weird but it is through this weirdness we can start to remove the veils of illusion and get true insight. Through this insight we can start to see our part we have played or are playing...essentially cast light on our own shadows and finally accept. Finally grow.  Let's get to the point: As we enter into the Krittika new moon tomorrow morning there is much in your hands. I see this as an opportunity for us all to cut ties with all that has inappropriate power over us. Think about your own life and where you feel defeated or held against your will - this is where you need to reclaim and empower. Krittika has the symbol of the razor or knife and it has the precision to cut, burn or sever. This ain't a moonbeams and rainbows new moon. No, not at all.
Within us all we have perceived weakness which drains our willpower/confidence (represented by the Sun which Krittika governs). As the Sun is exalted in Aries and the Moon is in union with it you may be feeling all the repressed anger, frustration and perceived weaknesses from not honouring yourself. This is a good thing. It's a sign that this needs to be released/removed so you can make way for a stronger and more courageous version of yourself. We are all the stars and they are us. You are not lacking in any way. It is only the lens through which you peer that reflects these fears and shortcomings. It is in this new moon where you can be the celestial surgeon and remove what doesn't serve you anymore. Now with Venus (love/pleasure) at home in Taurus approaching Rahu (karma/amplification) over the next week we are swiftly moving into a heightened feminine/receptive/rejuvenating phase. Venus in Taurus will illuminate where we feel secure and worthy in love (for the good and bad), Rahu will amplify and add it's only blend of obsession and confusion yet bring many opportunities in this realm. The song Crazy Little Thing Called Love comes to mind as I write. And it could get a little crazy ahead in all things heart related. So with this in mind and knowing the new moon has the shakti/power to burn or purify, set your intentions to bolster your self up. If you were your best and shining self what love would you accept and even more so pursue? What old habits and thoughts/beliefs need to go to make way for this new emblazoned adventure ahead?
