Tomorrow night we enter the illumination of a full moon in Pushya. Now I want to talk numerology (this is the most mathematics you'll ever read from me) - 2024 is an 8 year. 8 is ruled by Saturn. Pushya is the 8th nakshatra (or lunar mansion). Pushya is also ruled by Saturn. Saturn is the lord of time, karma and lessons to do with these. Now 2024 is a start slow, work hard, and achieve big kind of year. This is a get serious year. Long term changes. What you reap you sow. Things may be delayed but they are not denied. Patience is required but so is commitment.
Ok now that is off my chest I shall put my calculator away (and my limited numerology knowledge) - and really there was no math involved other than me saying the same number a few times and throwing some self help comments your way. But back to Pushya. A Pushya full moon is asking you to worship something. Put in the hard work and raise yourself up. For when you do this like a mother feeding her child milk you will be nourished and supported by the world. Really this is a lovely full moon (I won't talk about the eclipses to come this year...just yet). With Mars and Mercury together in Sagittarius we are thinking and starting to act towards our higher dreams. With Pluto and Sun close in Capricorn (yes in the actual sky Pluto is still in the early degrees of Capricorn) we are transforming ourselves into something new which takes integrous hard work. But even with all this hard work and seeking our higher ideals this full moon hopefully will hold you. Like a mother embracing her child while it sleeps after a feed in content bliss this is the energy to cultivate within yourself. With all the change, fear and expectation of the past few months in some way this lunar illumination will shine in a balm of love and containment to remind you like a flower there is time to grow and there is time to bloom. Happy blooming. Stay light, Mark :)

So much to think about, I'm down beside myself
And I don't know why So when in doubt, I let it out 'Cause it's okay to cry See, when I have a dream I wonder what it means And what it says about my life But it's never what it seems On the cinematic screen So I don't even wanna try ~ Gabrielle Aplin New year impressions dim behind the fire of the new moon. The impulse to find meaning missing, or missing when you had meaning. An overreach, a dream too big or too small, a seeking of pastures that outgreen reality or reality that is no longer. What are you seeking? There is a need to purify now to gain what you desire. Victory is nigh but not without both a burning away of dross and a cleansing of self required. If this is already in motion then success is near my dear friend. If you feel like a path is nowhere in sight then we have some burning to do. A task during the new moon would be to do a simple burning ritual. Write down every hindrance, fear, obstacle that is being carried/indulged/loved/despised and burn them in a bowl. From here we then do a water cleansing ritual - a swim in the ocean or a bath/shower will suffice. From here we are clear to choose/act. A Purvashada new moon requires invigoration. But this needs to be in alignment - neither foolish or foolhardy - but true to you. In some ways this fits in with the old diatribe of setting new year intentions but there is more to it - less about self judgement and jumping on the collective bandwagon and more a pulling away from the group and pulling back your own bow and aiming your arrow towards whatever lights you up. With so much in Sagittarius and its ruler in Aries we need to act. We need to choose. We need purpose. Take a risk my friend...life is precious. Stay light, Mark :) |
