Really there is much to be excited about from today. Mars and Mercury are now moving forward, Saturn has changed signs into Aquarius, Jupiter is still at home in Pisces and we have the year of the kind and peaceful Rabbit (in the Chinese lunar calendar) to celebrate on this upcoming New Moon. There is a feeling of moving forward from a stasis state we walked into this January. So please, shake it out/off/up and take a huge sigh of relief.
An Uttarashada new moon is one of victory. With the symbol of the tusk of the elephant it's hard not to instantly conjure up Ganesha. Ganesha is the symbol of new beginnings. Often referred to as the remover of obstacles yet a less known fact is this elephant headed god is also the bringer of obstacles. This deity will place obstacles in your path to help you grow, block you from misdirection/ill timing or as a karmic learning. Think back on the past years and see where your obstacles have laid. What have you learned from these thwarts? What have you denied, ignored or avoided from these sorrows? It is through our sufferings we arise triumphant if we are brave enough to stare straight down the barrel of the experience. So it is at this new chapter of our lives shared together we have a new opportunity ahead. Yet this new opportunity is something very real and longtime coming. Uttarashada is a later victory or as I like to say late blooming. Like a fine wine after hard work, patience and faith we start to hear the trumpets declare the fruit has ripened, the road is clear and the obstacles are no more. 2023 here we come!
