Together we can take it to the end of the line
Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time I don’t know what to do and I’m always in the dark We’re living in a powder keg and giving off sparks ```~ Bonnie Tyler Alright alright ALRIGHT! This hair isn't getting any smaller and this build up of celestial energy isn't either! Things are shaky, things are heating up, things are just beginning. Tomorrow is a time I urge you to be as centred, mindful and balanced as you can. This isn't the day to get your best Karen/Nigel on. It's really a day to do things differently as you sit in the eye of the storm. Become that eye and see with different perspective - I see this as a shake up of old and tired habits and it's time to eclipse them into the past where they belong. If your pattern always leads you into confrontation then try a more peaceful way. If your pattern often guides you down the wallowing victim route try to be the courageous leader of you life and become lovingly empowered. A solar eclipse doesn't have to be only superstition. It doesn't only have to be bad news and shadow. It can in fact create a glitch in the Matrix and you can finally say: You can go your own way. Now before I descend into a myriad of pop references only early Millenial and Gen X'ers comprehend - lets just say whatever heals is where you need to feel this new moon. As much of a death as a birth there is so much NEW energy emerging. This can inspire some of us and freak the fudge out of others of us - but it is is here and together we can take it to the end of line. Stay light (and I wish you a healing and enlightening solar eclipse), Mark :) #jyotish #astrology #vedicastrology #horoscope #newmoon #eclipse #bonnietyler #astrologersofinstagram

Woah woah WOAH! April is a biggie! It starts pretty calmy yet if you lean into it you can feel something is coming right?! And so begins the party later in the month - I'm not even going to mention May (which is another blog entirely). Ok the upcoming full moon in Hasta/Virgo Wednesday night is really the calm before the storm. This is a great time to go for your goals or set some in the near future. Put the world in your hands (hasta means hands). Another way to look at it is to see what you already hold in your power and be proud of those achievements. You are stronger than you know.
Ok let's get to the Venga bus ahead: Normally I would just wait and blog as it happens but I think in this instance having the forecast well in advance will give you remedy to adjust and navigate. Firstly from the 20th of April our planet of wisdom and dharma (purpose) is in a karmic knot or gandanta for about a week - as it travels over water to fire this is like a test or an initiation - something leaves as something enters. Be careful with your decisions at this time as it's quite a sensitive journey and your judgement may be disturbed. As Jupiter finds his new home in Aries on the 22nd (which he then becomes combust by the Sun so be very careful of taking the wrong advice and if you seek counsel make sure it's a trustworthy source. Then on the 20th of April we enter eclipse season with a new moon solar eclipse in Aries. Eclipses are very karmic energy and the sun being shadowed yet strong in Aries itself may bring up your ego vs soul clashes. Take it slow and a good time for any meditative/spiritual practices to stay centred. Mercury then boards the bus going retrograde on the 22nd. We like to party! There is much change coming. There is a lot of new energy arising. It definitely isn't all bad but it may be a rocky ride over the next two months. Do things in your life that are grounding, clearing and centering. Avoid anything that over stimulates or creates addictive habits - this will only make it more confusing. I wish you all well - we going to Ibiza! (figuratively) Stay light, Mark :) #jyotish #vedicastrology #astrology #fullmoon #eclipse #jupiter #aries #vengaboys #mercury #hasta #astrologersofinstagram Uttara Bhadrapada is a new moon of cremation. As we lay down on the funeral pyre (a symbol for this new moon) we accept loss, defeat, things we could have done better, the past and we allow the depths to take a version of ourselves. What version are you clinging to? Identity is but a mask and this can be surrendered to the fire, evaporate into the air and you can return to the holy waters to more freedom this new moon. In astrology we can get caught up in defining ourselves by a sign, or a nakshatra or a planet but the truth of Vedic wisdom is we are all the stars and to limit ourselves to our karma only leads to suffering and limitation. To peel back the layers is the journey, not to gather more and more masks of identity.
There is a bit of dreamy confusion around at the moment with the Sun and Mercury in sidereal Pisces joining Neptune. What this is good for: creative projects, spirituality, romance and resting. What this is not good for: thinking rationally/objectively, practicality, mundane tasks, material progression. This is then heightened tomorrow night as the new moon also falls in Vedic Pisces. This isn't the best time to get things started - in fact this is a deep dive into the subconscious and it is more worthy of your time to take time out and really let go into this energy rather than fighting against it. If you do fight there will be much confusion and illusion. If you dive in you will be rewarded with many blissful experiences and answers. Stay light, Mark :) #vedicastrology #jyotish #astrology #horoscope #newmoon #sydneyyoga #yogasydney #pisces #neptune #astrologersofinstagram The sun has been travelling with Saturn for a few weeks now and this has cast a shadow over our vitality and confidence. Things feel serious and perhaps even fatal. With the sun in Purva Bhadrapada there is a fierce intensity to life even under all this saturnian suppression. A fire bubbling under water simmering to boil. I wouldn't be surprised if you felt both worn out and also wound up. It is still quite a confusing time in the stars. When the Sun moves into sidereal Pisces on the 15th things will more liberated and energetic as it also joins Jupiter in this sign. So relief is coming but this is an important incubation time to shift and change you.
Venus and Jupiter are travelling together up until the 12th which is bringing abundance, an excessiveness or at least an expansion to love and learning. The mind and hearts are back on board during this period though watch out for delusion of grandeur and infatuations. Hopefully it is bringing some relief and joy during this topsy turvy time. The moon being full on the 7th in Purva Phalguni also promises more relief and rest from this transforming phase. It also promises the ripening of a wish or intention set over the past few weeks so stay clear on what you want. This is a moon of love and pleasure so Venus and Jupiter are lending a hand in these areas of life. It's also a great time to be creative and enjoy yourself though curb any over indulgence. Stay Light, Mark :) #jyotish #astrology #vedicastrology #horoscope #astrologersofinstagram #fullmoon I'm going to level with you. This upcoming dark moon on Sunday night is a confusing one. Not only is there serious fatigue and a sombre feeling in the air, but there is also sublime expansion and hope for what is to come. The complexity of this lunar cycle is quite fascinating yet also on the human level quite confronting. The riddles of duality are most at play at this time. Those seeking will feel the separation and longing like never before.
A Shatabhisha moon is known as the veiling star with the symbol of the empty circle. This is a time to empty out what burdens and protect (even disguise/mask) the inner depths. When one is sick we naturally retreat from the hustle of life. We step out of the brash (and often harsh) ever seeing eye of the sun into the darkness. It is here in the darkness away from light that we need the solitude of aloneness to heal. There is a feeling of this this new moon. A deep loneliness that is actually the potent gift to heal fully and then move back into the light of the next full moon. Now Neptune (or sometimes referred to as Varuna in Vedic) enters sidereal Pisces on this new moon and joins Venus and Jupiter. This is a profound 14 year shift and heralds in a highly spiritual, expansive and downright magical quality. Mermaids and unicorns and rainbows oh my! Through this heavy healing new moon I am presenting to you an idea: it's time to dream again. If life could be sparkly, glittery and sing-songy-dancing-radical-colourful-majestic-all-in-fully-alive-feelings-on-high why not dare to encourage it? Dip in a toe and see the ripples of your imagination expand. But that heart of yours needs to come on board and you need to dare to dream (and feel) a little dream, for me. Stay light (and hopeful), Mark :) #astrology #vedicastrology #jyotish #horoscope #astrologersofinstagram #neptune #pisces #newmoon Really there is much to be excited about from today. Mars and Mercury are now moving forward, Saturn has changed signs into Aquarius, Jupiter is still at home in Pisces and we have the year of the kind and peaceful Rabbit (in the Chinese lunar calendar) to celebrate on this upcoming New Moon. There is a feeling of moving forward from a stasis state we walked into this January. So please, shake it out/off/up and take a huge sigh of relief.
An Uttarashada new moon is one of victory. With the symbol of the tusk of the elephant it's hard not to instantly conjure up Ganesha. Ganesha is the symbol of new beginnings. Often referred to as the remover of obstacles yet a less known fact is this elephant headed god is also the bringer of obstacles. This deity will place obstacles in your path to help you grow, block you from misdirection/ill timing or as a karmic learning. Think back on the past years and see where your obstacles have laid. What have you learned from these thwarts? What have you denied, ignored or avoided from these sorrows? It is through our sufferings we arise triumphant if we are brave enough to stare straight down the barrel of the experience. So it is at this new chapter of our lives shared together we have a new opportunity ahead. Yet this new opportunity is something very real and longtime coming. Uttarashada is a later victory or as I like to say late blooming. Like a fine wine after hard work, patience and faith we start to hear the trumpets declare the fruit has ripened, the road is clear and the obstacles are no more. 2023 here we come! Stay light, Mark :) #newmoon #jyotish #astrology #vedicastrology #aquarius #rabbit #yearoftherabbit #2023 #horoscope #astrologersofinstagram #sydneyyoga #yogasydney #ganesh #ganesha #uttarashada I was going to wait to begin 2023 with a chipper upcoming new moon post BUT the winds of Saturn have been blowing in my ears. The winds are singing a song of calling bullshit without apology. As Saturn climbs home into Aquarius this Tuesday eve there is a fascinating and very real shift taking place in our skies. After rolling around in the Capricorn dirt throughout the whole pandemic we have been hit supremely hard with the karmic stick. Saturnian/Capricornian words of responsibility, patience, humility, resignation, experience, solitude, discipline, commitment, suffering, integrity, accountability, morals and reality are all governed under the rings of this sobering planet. Sound familiar? Saturn is not a popular planet. I'll leave it there.
I see this new Aquarius chapter as a fortification of the root chakra with the the throat chakra. Working in the yoga industry for over a decade I have become very comfortable in allowing words like 'flow' and 'vibe' to bypass many of the gifts of this planet. Excusing and allowing others (and of course myself) to be out of alignment with words and actions to serve the many desires of the ego. Saturn doesn't suffer fools lightly and it would be foolish to carry on in unconscious ways after the past few years of very difficult but very awakening learnings. There is much work to be done in our inner and outer worlds and much of it is progressive and liberating moving forward. When what we say and what we do align we can move mountains. Otherwise we lose confidence, credibility, respect and support. Gifting the words of truth (throat chakra) with the security of reality (root chakra) we become a force to be reckoned with. No longer confusing. No longer confused. This is true strength of conviction and THIS will be the reign of Saturn in Aquarius. Stay light, Mark :) #saturn #shani #jyotish #vedicastrology #astrology #horoscope #capricorn #aquarius "Where's our greasy write up already?"
As this forthright request fell into my DM this afternoon I was inspired (yes, it appears I'm a masochistic Pisces ascendant) to fill you in on this new moon. I actually wrote a blog yesterday and my phone deleted it as I went to send (fucking love that) and I thought to myself - let it go, Els. But sometimes some things in life are worth a second go are they not? - a theme I think prevalent to this new moon. It's time to manifest finally in the 11th hour (and month) of this rollercoaster of a year. The most astounding piece of the puzzle tomorrow morning as the moon crescents in light from darkness Jupiter FINALLY moves forward in the sky. Jupiter rules many things - husband, children, fortune, wisdom, expansion, luck, faith and merriment to name a few. As he was going backward for so many months we have been twisted in these areas - thwarted, crooked and surprised at every turn. Perhaps doubting and contracting and just plain waiting for things to become clear. Well it's nice to say after all the eclipse shitstorm of the past couple of moons this is your chance to see a path - remember those - something that feels like it's going somewhere that you can work/walk towards?! Something like Dorothy finding the yellow brick road (without the creepy munchkin smirks and dropping a house on Elphaba - though not too unlike the past few months). An Anuradha moon is the star of success heralding in the shakti of worship/devotion. When we worship something we do it with our full heart/spirit. I think this is what so many of us have been craving and lost without for so long now. So when setting an intention tomorrow morning around 10am AEDT have the objective to manifest something that you can put your full heart into. What is it that will truly make you sing and dance right now? Of course you may not be clear as the moon itself is in debilitation meaning the mind is either obsessive or in turmoil right now). So light a lamp in front of an altar or a beautiful spot in your house/nature tonight under the black moon and sit with the depths of yourself and finally ask: What is it I truly want? Let it wash over - feel it out. Give your heart the time to actually tell you. Get out of your mind - scrap the lists and feel it. Fully. Then invoke into your body tomorrow morning when you're ready and pray in your own way to manifest into being. See it happen, feel how it feels and fully let it all go. Stay light, Mark :) #astrology #vedicastrology #jyotish #horoscope #newmoon #jupiter #sydneyoga #yogasydney October October October. That feeling that has been slowly arising, the one that is hard to clarify, the one that you can dismiss yet always returns, the one that says 'something is coming but not yet not yet'...well this feeling, this voice is going to get louder and will also be farther reaching than you can imagine. October (and early November) is such a big astrological event that I couldn't not write about it.
As lord of time Saturn slows down in the sky to stillness our time during our every day days becomes warped and slow. This in itself is such curious timing before the craziness begins. And by curious I should probably say: very important. It is very important that you slow down right now, use your utmost patience, discipline and moral action. You will need these gifts as you travel through what is to come. And what is to come? The winds of great change. As Saturn starts to grind forward on the 24th of October we enter the solar eclipse new moon on the 25th. This year this lines up with Diwali - the festival of the lights in India - and the lighting of the soul is needed through the darkness to see where the winds will take you. This will be like a blast of chaotic energy after the slowing down of Saturn and you could literally be 'all over the shop'. The days before and after this eclipse will scatter your energy - this of course doesn't need to be 'negative'. These winds can swiftly sweep out clutter/dross/negativity from your life or can seriously unsettle if you don't channel it so. This is where the test of detachment and patience of Saturn is vital. Mars turns retrograde joining Jupiter's backward motion at the end of the month and this will unsettle deeper. Bringing us into the lunar eclipse full moon in Bharani. A culmination of these winds of change will end here as the shakti of this moon will finally take it all that has been lifted up and scattered away. Saturn then is on the home stretch out of Capricorn that began back in January 2020 and we all know what began then...these next couple of months are full of energy but they shall lead us on to great change. And great change is what we all need. Stay light, Mark :) #astrology #jyotish #vedicastrology #eclipse #astrologersofinstagram #saturn A new moon is often a time to shed a skin. A skin we may have manufactured over the span of a month. Or sometimes over many lifetimes. Letting go can sound so liberating (especially in a buzzword world) but in actuality can be some of the scariest work we do. Allowing ourselves to see what we sidestep and bury into shadow can be murky, confronting and altogether upsetting. To even admit avoidance can be heavy work on the road to unmasking. And it is an unmasking that is what is happening. The many masks we wear to protect, bolster and pretend we fit into something that ultimately we do not. The identity is just that - something attempting to define something that is indescribable. You my friend are indescribable. Do not limit yourself to the fences you create.
Ok now please can someone help me down off this soapbox - oh no one is here...*hobbles down* There is much beauty in this mighty Magha new moon. With Venus and Mercury on either side of the Sun and Moon we are embraced by these two benefic planets. With these two I see it that there can be a support from relationships and of intellectual clarity/discernment as we unmask. Though along this journey in the next day or two there may be mourning and there may even be out of body experiences as you dethrone your old identity to make way for the new one. Another curious part of a Magha moon is that is has a lot to do with our ancestors. If we look down the line of our past we can see patterns. Curiously we carry similar afflictions to those walking the earth before us if we lean into this heritage. This is not just our hereditary illnesses and diseases. But traumas, habitual wounds, addictions and desires unfulfilled begging for satiation. For in our evolution of our family line we propel the next generation to finish what we started or couldn't finish/resolve. Investigating these long held patterns and cycles can be very painful yet ultimately illuminating and ever more so liberating. And liberation is what we seek this new moon.
