Blue moon, you saw me standing alone
Without a dream in my heart, without a love of my own
Blue moon, you knew just what I was there for
You heard me saying a prayer for someone I really could care for
And suddenly there appeared before me the only one my arms could ever hold
I heard someone whisper, "Please, adore me"
And when I looked my moon had turned to gold
Blue moon, now I'm no longer alone - Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart
A hasta moon contains within it the power to gain what we are seeking and place it in our hands. With Mars in a close embrace with the Sun and Moon tonight we are not in a typical dark moon phase. Often a time to shed, to quiet and enter into contemplation we have far too much going on in the sky (and our minds) to accommodate this. The powers of manifestation are ripe and there is a change on the wind that is all too obvious for those in the know. There is a great change ahead.
Pluto the planet of transformation, destruction and magic has finally moved forward in the sky. Death has happened to us all and the cycle of rebirth has begun. Crawling out of the dusty cocoon we now see with childlike eyes of what is around us and most certainly what is ahead. Yet this ahead at this stage is still very definitely what is right in front of us. There is much potency in the present. Seek it out. At all costs. Diving into the future is not where the power of manifestation lays this new moon. It is all in the now. Yes, I am now Eckart Tolle and I too have awoken on a park bench.
Once this new moon crescents at 10:05pm tonight we then can begin to act - Mars will support and expect this of us. Until then what is in your hands at the moment? What power do you actually hold (that you are potentially missing). If you look behind you, you will see the debris of the home that has held you, buffered you and also destroyed the old you for the past few months, to which you have finally left, but if you look even closer behind you will see a fresh pair of wings ready to test. Tomorrow these wings will become even more obvious but for now my mighty morphin power rangers: It's morphin' time!

As the sun and the moon sit on either side of the earth we enter a rather intriguing full moon. On one side it feels energised (particularly in a mental and practical way) yet on the other side it feels dreamy and otherworldly. As the veils thin in-between the dance of the physical world and the land of spirit we somehow hover together in the abyss. You'd think I had somewhere to go with this...but I do not. And yet that is on purpose. If we had a purpose right now. In which we do not. Make sense?
While the moon enters Pisces in the early hours we all have nowhere to go with this...other than the abyss itself. With the moon close to Neptune casting its alluring fog on the mind creating both deception and fusion we swing between truth and illusion. It is in this sweet spot balancing in between that provides the nectar for something enlightening and all encompassing. That's really the best way I can describe it. Let's dive further into the fathoms to explore this through vedic symbology.
The moon in Uttara Bhadrapada swims us into the serpent (sometimes dragon) energies of the deep waters and the atmosphere above. In fact the shakti of this moon provides the rain to fall - from above to below. In essence it is providing the balance between the three worlds. In a mundane way (let's keep it simple - we've had enough) it heralds in stability. And ain't we needing some stability right now?! Butttt hey how does that correspond with all my alluringly vague descriptions above? Well I'm glad you asked: with the Sun and Mars opposite in Virgo providing practical solutions (especially in regards to health) the moon is providing a much needed counter of spiritual attunement and a 'seeing' if you will. There is a bigger picture if you dare to open that great big eye in the middle of your forehead, It whispers something...if you learn how to encode it.

A change of pace. Or perhaps a break in our regular programming. A big astrological change is happening in our skies that is worthy of imparting. Tomorrow Jupiter is reversing back into vedic Capricorn for his final reunion with Saturn. The grand conjunction last year that had hippies everywhere rolling in patchouli and dancing like octupi on heat - you know - when we were heralding in the dawn of a new age in Aquarius in what felt like a decade ago - remember? I mean it's fair if you do not due to the fun we've been having. But yes last year was the ending and beginning of a 20 year cycle between the two largest planets in our solar system. This was big - yet hardly big enough to the scale of what has happened and on top of that it happened in Capricorn in the astronomical sky. So put that incense away and save those undulating bodyrolls for another day. We ain't out of the woods just yet. BUT there is a light at the end of this arduously long and tediously draining tunnel we have been dragging ourselves through. Is it even a drag anymore when you're just pointlessly rolling?
Some crucial dates (in AEST) to keep an eye on - October 7th Pluto moves forward again after 5 months of intensification. We have all been through an alchemical process of transformation, death and renewal. October 11th Saturn goes direct after a 6 month retrogradation period - this has been a tough one for the everyday person as Saturn has slowed us all down. Being in its own sign has made the planet of suffering and responsibility stronger for better or worse. Those out of integrity have been hit the hardest. Anyone with planets/ascendant in Capricorn will feel an almighty shift from this date. October 18th Jupiter too goes forward after a 4 month backward hike. It has almost felt like light was being squeezed out as this planet has returned to its sign of debilitation - yet the good news is Saturn is somewhat protecting us and it's the projected fear of the months ahead that is plaguing us rather than it actuality of any true doomed future. Those with Sagittarius or Pisces will be feeling this internally the most. Finally Mercury goes direct on October 19th after screwing with our plans and communication lines from September 27 (yup it hasn't Beetlejuiced us just yet) - Gemini and Virgo brace your whacky selves!
You may remember (what day is it?) previously I posted about how Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto were the big game changes in Capricorn from 2020...well this is the start of relief from all this compounded energy. Capricorn has brought such seriousness and dryness into our lives and this long drawn out planetary retrogrades has only made it more depressing....well...that is shifting and September is where I invite you dare to see the light that is coming in...let's just help each other get through this next month, earthlings.

The September new moon tonight/tomorrow rocks us into moments of rest, play and sweetness. A Purva Phalguni moon governed by Venus (which today enters sidereal Libra) is a fortuitous occasion indeed. The air is warm, the breeze is soft and the sun is pastel. After the year we've had, wherever in the world you are, a lullaby sings from somewhere deeply familiar within that needs to be caressed and kissed with joyful intentions. As spring is on the gentle wind we too in the southern hemisphere begin to blossom and sprout anew.
With Jupiter still in retrograde on the verge of departing sidereal Aquarius opposite this moon the spirit has a loving opportunity in its sights: a burst of hope and expansion in mind. Let's keep it simple this post. The moon sings to you to find the fun in your life. It's a moon to RELAX and shoot the breeze. To allow abundance to flow toward you just by being yourself (rather than striving for something better or out of reach...no this moment is the moment to sink back and love the present and the reflection of yourself exactly as it is IN IT). A little homework to leave you with to attract the sweet nectar of the moon in your field: Write 3 things you are grateful for in you life NOW. Bring these three things into your being, drink them in and allow your heart to beat out that beautiful energy into the cosmos.
Tonight the moon kisses the stars.

Another full moon, another opportunity to clarify and complete a stage in the ever evolving journey ahead. And we are on a journey. Whether we can admit this or not: Together. 10pm AEST Sunday night we are called to join the rhythm of the lunar cycle and be seen. To be seen is to allow your light to reflect in another/outwardly. Through this process of reflection you can see yourself from another perspective and integrate even more of your shadow.
The moon being in Aquarius joined by Jupiter expands this birds eye view allowing a more objective and uniquely expansive outlook. Jupiter here retrograde is making us turn inward first to find the treasure in this full moon. In essence we are all travelling backward at the moment to gain more wisdom or truth. So in more basic terms: as you travel more introspectively what beliefs are arising within that are outdated? Perhaps you are clinging to old likes/dislikes, ways of thinking, even just habitual ways of communicating that are regressive or not even embedded in who you are at the present. Aquarius holds the hope of Utopia in its expression. Utopia is an egalitarian paradise where we can all exist to our highest capacity in perfect harmony. I mean good fudging luck Aquarius - yet in this unreachable goal we find an important striving to better oneself to higher integrity - to keep growing. Together.
Mars and Mercury are together now opposite the moon creating heated communication, a sense of individualised opinion and entitlement. This can blur the internal truth the moon is seeking on Sunday. So my advice is think about what you are saying. When it's hot and angry, take a breath, take a step out and come back with this Aquarius coolness that is of most importance the next few days. Finally the moon being in Dhanistha is called the star of symphony. A symphony contains a vast amount of individual musical instruments coming together to produce an intricately extensive musical composition. We are all musicians with a song to sing. But when we sing together we are always grander than our parts.

Oooo. Hmmm. When a new moon enters into Ashlesha with its ruler Mercury joining and Saturn opposite in Shravana in the sky one needs to take stock. Just beyond midnight on Sunday (technically Monday) we find ourselves entangled in the embrace of our inner desires. Any one else feeling a building in intensity? A fire or irritation from the shadows ignored ready to be unleashed or even strike at the drop of a dust mite? Ashlesha is a very potent moon with much to share (kundalini, depth of intelligence and sexuality to name just a few) but in the wrong hands (or the wrong time of the day) it can be disastrous. With the shakti of the snake to inflict poisonous venom there is the potential to explode emotionally and verbally inflicting pain - yet this could be avoided if the energy of this new moon is channelled appropriately.
I look to Saturn across the skies as an antidote. Saturn is strong at the moment in its own sign and has the patience to listen in Shravana. Shravana has the symbol of the ear and tells you with all this poison/segregation/separation/polarity around us in the world when we externalise or project upon an other or subject it is only a mirror of what we hate within. And this new moon conjures words with passion like lust, hate, intensity, obsession and pain. Now back to the ear - if one could only take a breath, LISTEN to what is arising, feeling the sensations in the body and mind - yes those intense and desperately uncomfortable feelings, thoughts and desires that you have - the ones you don't even want to admit to that you have that you despise in an other - if you can feel that potency that boils up and instead of lashing out or exploding/reacting you allow it to be there. You love it. You use it. Saturn is your guide this new moon to consciously unavoid and see. For it is this poison that is within us all is your way to heal and contain the power of the universe.

No, you can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometime you just might find
You get what you need - Rolling Stones
There is a need within you at this time that surpasses the desire to change out of discomfort. There is a need that is waiting to be announced victorious if you let it. It may take a little bit of patience. It may take a little bit of struggle. Yet it is yours for the taking. Yes. I am the Riddler.
The full moon that bonds in Uttarashada (tomorrow midday AEST) is a strong one. And depending where it rises in your chart is putting you to work to bring something to completion or success. Now there are a myriad of options here - but you know of what I speak, don't you! You don't - keep reading ;) Saturn and Pluto are back in the mix this full moon - they have had such an impact since the days before 'the plague' that it's hard to remember a time without their immediate presence. Saturn and Pluto hovering around the moon like the song above are singing you to truth, reality and deep karma. Looking at the chart exactly for the full moon tells me there is something to let go of, a courageous step to be taken, to grant you this victory promised by the lunar rays.
The sun in Pushya is sending nourishment to ourselves and really we have to choose ourselves at the moment to win what we truly desire. Now the western definition of self is vastly inferior to the definition in the east. The Self in eastern culture not only incorporates the will but the spirit - the spirit is behind the ego which binds and energises us all. Sooooo no pressure! Regardless warming the inside first before you help others with their mask is a necessity (ok it's been a while since I've been on a long-haul flight to remember that quote).
Now it is Pluto that wins this battle this full moon and is closest to the moon itself. Pluto rules the karmic laws of time and undercurrents of everything - again - no pressure! But coming back to the Rolling Stones in our times of relentless over stimulation and online connection we are often disconnected from what is truly at play. What you desire can often be a want convoluted in disconnection, projection and superficialities. A need is something fundamentally required that you may not even be aware is needed. Pluto is your planet here to rumble up from somewhere deep in you to supply this truth over the next few hours. Once this becomes apparent you may be surprised and hopefully relieved of all the rest plaguing the mind. And then the full moon can grant this long-lasting success as promised.

So you've fallen down. Things didn't turn out the way you wanted them to. Currently you're thinking 'is it even worth trying again?'. My answer: Yes.
"If it at first you don't succeed then dust yourself off and try again." Aaliyah/some wise prophet
The new moon beginning to crescent late Saturday morning AEST is in the star of renewal Punarvasu. Punarvasu has a lot to say about giving something a second (third or fourth etc) try after failure and it working out. Some things in life are not instantaneous and often it is a game of timing, luck, fate, karma, skillset and heck even attitude. Is there something in your life that you poured your heart into previously that needs a revisit at this time? Now let's put current affairs of the world on the bookshelf just for today and dream again without constriction.
Mars and Venus are together in Ashlesha this new moon adding some passion and spice yet they are directly opposite in the sky to Saturn. So there is a feeling of frustration, suffering, resentment underneath all of these amorous vibes (especially as Mars is not strong at present). Ashlesha is often where we have some poison or toxicity in the heart - known as the clinging star - is there something or someone in your past you're still hung up on that isn't beneficial for present/future projection? This is definitely something for you to look at or suffer through if avoided at this time. Be careful with reactive/hurtful words of your own over the next few days especially with those you love.
Now Punarvasu is a moon of gains. Yet even more so it is about receiving. One of its symbols is the quiver of arrows. A quiver is the home or case that holds the arrows. Arrows are your objective but the quiver holds the objective. I love this symbolism as it reflects to me that it's more about you being able to hold, believe and receive your objective (quiver) than fighting/aiming for it (arrows). If you can't hold or home what you desire then it can only fall away or pass through sometimes without you even knowing. With Jupiter in Shatibhisha, the planet governing Punarvasu, throwing a supportive aspect to this new moon in retrograde says to me this: There is something in/from the past to be healed. And if this an emotional journey (rather than a physical illness) to the past then it is something to be forgiven. There is much support in healing at this time. There is much support in receiving your hearts desire. You just have to let it in.

When the glorious beacon of light in our sky is blocked by the moon, be prepared for some...weird shit to happen. I was going to write poetically but hey, let's call a spade a spade. A solar eclipse drains our energy and warps the path to the soul. The sun representing the atma or consciousness that fuels us all is shadowed by the moon (mind) causing an otherworldly phenomenon for our human eyes. So literally expect your mind to be in many an illusion right now blocking your own access to the true source or light within. Weird dreams - check. Strange cravings - check. Deluded thoughts - check check check. Darkness ensues...be prepared again, Scooby Gang!
This new moon gets compounded by the fact that Mercury is also 1 degree away from it so our intellects are either getting overly involved in the madness ie over analysing to the tenth degree, or we cannot discern between fact and fiction. This new moon will take a little courage to fight our way out of what is truly an empowering new beginning ahead rather than just fighting ourselves into insanity and falling down old rabbit holes. And this Mrigashira moon is placing us all on a search for a new beginning indeed. In fact it's the search that grants us real fulfillment that will be of utmost importance. I can already hear all your minds whirring as I type.
Question time: What do YOU want? If there wasn't the complexities of practicalities and responsibilities in your current life - what is your real longing here? If you can't even admit or honour your innate truth there is no way for you to begin this quest. I'm not saying all wishes are granted in the karmic life we all live but denial is no way for your heart to be free and for you to find true peace this new moon. As much as an eclipse causes our inner demons to rise to this surface, and this can feel completely uncomfortable, it is also a rare gift: When you can clearly see and loudly hear your ghosts is when they can finally be set free and move on.

'Turn around, bright eyes. Every now and then I fall apart.'
Oh Bonnie! Hands up if you're feeling something...something you can't quite define...it feels odd, weird, mysterious or subtly grotesque? Welcome to the full moon eclipse. In contrast to western astrology definitions the vedic interpretation of an eclipse goes something like this: as the karmic axis shadow the two great lights in our sky (the sun and moon) this shadow creates chaos within the mind and soul. Feeling disconnected from our sources of light we start to see more of our darkness and demons. Now before you panic about sinking into the hellmouth and summon your inner Buffy...there is always insight to be gained.
The moon is eclipsed this time around so our mind is feeling both vulnerable yet also perhaps more spiritual. Some can expect big disturbances (especially if your own sun, moon or ascendant fall in Taurus or Scorpio) and yet others can just have a delicate uneasiness or a subtle feeling of deception or disillusionment about their current reality. With eclipses there is always a mystery as this is deep karmic rubble. This rubble is yours to explore over the next few days particularly tomorrow night from 6:47pm-11:49pm AEST. The remedies suggested during this time is to eat light or fast, stay away from big groups of people and meditate. Any spiritual practices are heightened or amplified at this time.
On a mundane level I see this eclipse as a way to see what's really happening in our connections right now - the moon is in Anuradha which shows us how to devote, respect and honour both ourselves and those we commune with. The eclipse will either cast a shadow over these connections causing the heart to feel isolated/lonely or amplify where you are incorrectly pouring your heart into fruitless love/connection. Why so cruel? Well I'm glad you asked - as this is the karmic axis it is why we are here. The lessons we are here to learn or balance from previous actions/lives. So it may feel weird but it is through this weirdness we can start to remove the veils of illusion and get true insight. Through this insight we can start to see our part we have played or are playing...essentially cast light on our own shadows and finally accept. Finally grow.
